Locomotives and other railway equipment used either for passenger transportation or for freight trains, as well as for performing certain technological tasks (repair and maintenance of railways). In combination with tracking systems, telematics provides control over the railroad machines operating parameters, measuring actual fuel consumption and minimizing possibility of manipulating with fuel.
Advantages of the applied solutions
Telematics is used in railway sector to measure real fuel consumption and control technological operations; monitor engine workload; for diagnosis of the engine in terms of fuel consumption – allows to identify any engine errors and eliminate them at the right time. Telematics also provides accurate information about filling the tank, eliminating possible manipulations with fuel.
