Purpose of use

Fuel flow meter is an accurate device for fuel consumption monitoring. DFM can be used both as a part of vehicle tracking system and as a stand-alone solution.

Installed directly to engine fuel line, real-time fuel information provides constant visibility and, when paired with two-way telematics, permits unrivaled control of engine modes and fuel usage. Historical data can be used to locate fleet outliers, idling, and count engine working hours as well as highlight signs of maintenance or repair issues.

DFM fuel flow meters are designed for diesel fuel consumption measuring in the fuel line of the following vehicles:

Measured fluids

Fuel flow meter DFM can be used for following fluids flow measurement:

  • diesel fuel;
  • biodiesel;
  • heating oil;
  • burner oil;
  • other liquid fuels and mineral oils with kinematic viscosity 1.5 – 6 cSt *.

* When operating with fluids having kinematic viscosity over 6 cSt the upper limit of DFM capacity range will get lower than nominal one and the pressure drop will increase. All DFM units are verified with diesel fuel. Please indicate the type of fuel and its viscosity while ordering.

DFM flow meters are made of petrol resistant materials. Use safety equipment in accordance with national legislation when working with diesel fuel.

Fuel flow meter (one chamber*)

DFM single-chamber fuel flow meter is mainly used for engines with returnless fuel system or with small return. It measures fuel consumption in the range of 1 – 600 l/h (0.25 – 158.5 GPH). Presented in wireless autonomous with display (B, C) and Bluetooth (S7) versions as well as with an interface cable version without (A) or with display.

Differential fuel flow meter (two chambers*)

DFM D differential fuel flow meter consists of two measuring chambers for supply and return fuel lines. The device measures differential fuel consumption in the range of 10 – 600 l/h (2.5 – 158.5 GPH). Presented in wireless autonomous with display (B, C) and Bluetooth (S7) versions as well as with an interface cable version.

Fuel flow meter (one chamber*)

DFM Marine – one-chamber fuel flow meter for middle and big engines (fuel consumers) consumption measurement. Perfectly suits for marine and river transport, railway machines, quarrying machinery, powerful diesel generators, boilers, burners with flow rate 20 – 4,000 l/h (5 – 1,055 GPH). Presented in wireless autonomous and cable versions with display as well as Bluetooth version. Measuring chamber is constructed from brass, ensuring additional corrosion resistance.

Industrial flow meter (one chamber*)

DFM Industrial flow meter is designed for fuel / liquid consumption and engine / pump operating time counting in sea and river vessels, fuel delivery from truck tankers, in high-power diesel generator sets and boilers, in petrochemical, utilities or other industrials. Suitable for flow rates 0.72 – 180 m³/h (190 – 47,550 GPH).

*All the devices can be used in pairs for differential measurement or for summation (up to 16 pairs within a single network) on objects with several engines.

Installation

Fuel flow meters DFM should be mounted in vehicle’s fuel line according to approved installation schemes. Fuel pipe and installation kit can also be included into delivery set. After DFM installation, it is necessary to remove air from the fuel system.
